Local Missions

At Southside Baptist Church, we understand that in order to promote The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), you have to be involved in missions on all levels. Below you will find a listing of various types of local mission fields that Southside is involved in.

Local Ministries We Support:

Smith Baptist Association

Bethesda Medical Clinic

East Texas Rescue Ministries

Cross Vision

Kathryn’s House

Mission Tyler

Once a month we participate in the Good Samaritan ministry and we volunteer at the Kings Storehouse, a local Christian Food Bank. We also have a family in our community that a group of men and some of our youth donate their time to. Each week during the Spring, Summer and Fall they donate their time and energy to the lawn maintainence at this family's Home. Click here to find out more about the Chamness Ministry.

This year we will be participating in MissionLab, a missions training camp for the youth and college ministries.

Past Mission Projects

In 2008 we served as an emergency shelter for over 120 people displaced by hurricanes Ike and Rita .

In 2010 the people of Southside took on some of their own mission projects. Click on the following link to view the pictures of the School Bus Stop project.
